Are you living with a disability?
You can now climb with the Footing Vertical™

The Footing Vertical™ is the “electric-assisted bike of climbing.”

The Footing Vertical™ is a technological system made up of a motor and a lanyard. The lanyard attaches to the harness of the person with a disability, and the motor allows them to reduce their weight as needed. This enables them to climb feeling much lighter, as if they weighed only 20kg. It provides a gentle reintroduction to an activity, all while ensuring safety, as the Footing Vertical™ will catch them if they let go of the holds. Thus, they can take breaks whenever they want.

You can also sign up for your parents and grandparents.

The inclusive harness and spreader bar for perfect comfort and vertical alignment.

If you have no use of your legs, or if you can’t maintain your torso, the inclusive harness will be your partner to help you climb routes.

Our C.H.A.S. harness, specially designed for the comfort of people with disabilities, can be worn while standing, but most importantly, while sitting in a wheelchair.

When paired with our spreader bar, it allows for a very natural climbing experience by verticalizing people with disabilities. Thanks to this solution, we are now enabling incomplete quadriplegic individuals to climb.

The benefits of climbing for people with disabilities.

strengthens muscles

Climbing engages the entire body and strengthens muscles in a balanced way. It develops upper body strength through pulling movements, while the legs and core provide stabilization and propulsion. This sport also improves muscular endurance, coordination, and proprioception. Unlike traditional weightlifting, it activates muscles through active stretching and eccentric contractions, promoting flexibility and resistance to injuries.

Promotes mobility and joint flexibility.

Unlike high-impact sports, climbing stresses the joints in a controlled and progressive manner, thus minimizing the risk of major injuries. By actively engaging the spine and limbs in a wide variety of movements, it enhances joint stacking and helps prevent stiffness and osteoarthritis. Additionally, climbing strengthens stabilizing muscles, reducing excessive pressure on the joints and preventing long-term injuries.

Improves psycho-cognitive abilities

Climbing engages both the mind and the body, requiring focus, stress management, and self-overcoming. Each route or boulder problem is a puzzle to solve, stimulating thought and creativity. This sport enhances skills such as memory, visualization, and planning. In addition to providing a sense of accomplishment, it promotes the release of endorphins, reducing anxiety and depression.

accelerates weight loss

Climbing is a demanding activity that boosts metabolism and promotes calorie expenditure. By engaging multiple muscle groups, it reduces body fat while building muscle mass. It also improves insulin sensitivity, helping to regulate blood sugar levels. Through the alternation of effort and rest, it contributes to weight loss and metabolic balance.

Enhances mental and emotional well-being

Climbing is an activity that fosters camaraderie and sharing, whether indoors or outdoors. It encourages teamwork, communication, and mutual trust. This creates a strong sense of belonging to a supportive community. It helps individuals organize, overcome challenges, manage emotions, focus, perceive their environment, and become aware of their body and position in space.

Footing Vertical™ for active and less active people with disabilities.

For active people with disabilities

The Footing Vertical™ allows active individuals with disabilities to try a new, highly engaging activity, including climbing with their climbing friends. Being already active, these individuals will have no trouble starting climbing with the Footing Vertical™, which enables safe climbing, with the option to take breaks during the ascent if needed, or push themselves further by reducing the assistance to a minimum.

For less active people with disabilities

The Footing Vertical™ is ideal for individuals with disabilities who are more sedentary or less active, allowing them to gently ease back into physical activity at their own pace. One of the main barriers to exercise is often the lack of strength to carry one’s own body weight. With the Footing Vertical™, which reduces up to 90% of body weight, it becomes possible to climb effortlessly while reaping the benefits of the activity.

Over time, individuals gradually reduce the assistance until they can climb at their natural weight. Even with just one session per week, muscle gains and improved balance become apparent within a few weeks, accompanied by a strong sense of pride and lasting well-being.

We will keep you informed as soon as a Footing Vertical™ is available in your city.

Here are individuals with disabilities who climb with Footing Vertical™ and are already enjoying all its benefits

Camille: 19 years old, with a disability

Camille was a passionate gymnast until an accident changed her life. Initially misdiagnosed, she endured months of pain, rehabilitation, and challenging hospitalizations. Her body weakened, her spirits faltered, and she felt isolated. But one day, her doctor suggested a climbing project. Without hesitation, she agreed. From the very first session, she rediscovered forgotten sensations: effort, challenge, the joy of progress. Thanks to the Footing Vertical™, she climbs without fear, getting stronger and rebuilding herself. More than just a sport, climbing gives her back confidence and a supportive community. A new life begins, filled with passion, strength, and renewed smiles.

Papi : 80 ans
